Ms. Swinburn

This will be my first year teaching third grade.  I am very excited about working with this group of students.  Mrs. Cruz and I will be team teaching this year and switching groups.  She will teach Language Arts and Social Studies while I teach Math and Science (both in Spanish).

  2. Parents,
I am including some websites and Apps that we are using, or will be using, in my math classroom. These are some good tools that your children can use from home to practice what we are learning in class. Please let me know what you think. Thanks,

    Ms. Swinburn

http://nlvm.usu.edu/en/nav/vlibrary.html National Library of Virtual Manipulatives – great for showing regrouping in addition and subtraction, as well as fractions, money, time, and other math concepts

http://kakooma.com/Kakooma This a website, and also an iPhone / iPad app that lets kids practice math facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) without realizing it. The puzzles go from easy to hard, and are separated by operation (+, -, x, ÷).
